Jake Gibson is an Adjunct Reference and Instruction Librarian at LaGuardia Community college. His research interests include digital humanities, information and data literacy instruction, data curation, critical media studies, and data justice. He received his M.S. in Library and Information Science at Pratt Institute and a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at the University of Michigan.

As the project manager of Virulent Hate, a University of Michigan digital humanities team documenting anti-Asian racism and Asian American activism during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jake has experience supporting faculty and undergraduate research, managing research data, building project websites, and information visualization.

Jake's work is grounded in an ethics of care and a belief in the value of collaboration. He also has a background in the performing arts and is passionate about all things experimental.
